MIDI: a glass globe set on a glossy ceramic base
Two materials answer each other here: a translucent glass globe and a 17 cm base in white glazed ceramic, glossy in finish. The whole measures 13.5 cm long by 14.5 cm high and keeps compact proportions. The glass is what sets this wall sconce apart from fully opaque models, since it lets the light through across the entire sphere.
An E27 LED bulb of 15 W maximum is enough to make the globe glow in a cool white of 4000 K. The diffusion is even, with no harsh point of light, and covers an area of 3 to 10 metres. The bulb is not delivered with the fitting.
This kind of globe works just as well as a hallway sconce as it does for extra light in a bedroom or a home office. The gloss of the ceramic returns a slight reflection that keeps the base alive even when the light is off. Indoor installation at IP20, on a 220-240 V mains supply, fixings not supplied.
