GILAK: a gold tray that throws the light back onto the wall
The aluminium forms a circular tray of 32 cm whose inner face, gold or silver, reflects the light instead of letting it escape. The acrylic diffuses the source and smooths out the halo obtained. The result is one of those wall sconces that is at once graphic and soft, where the metallic finish does most of the decorative work.
The G9 cap LED source is supplied and can be set to warm white 3000 K, cool white 4000 K or a three-colour mode, with adjustable brightness. This flexibility allows you to move from task lighting to a subdued light at the end of the day. The range of 3 to 5 metres comfortably covers a desk corner or a dining table.
The format of 32 cm in diameter by 27 cm wide stays contained and works just as well on its own as in a symmetrical pair. The IP20 rating reserves it for dry rooms. In a bedroom with neutral shades, the gold finish creates a point of warmth that is enough to bring a wall to life.
