This wall sconce subverts the idea of a pendant: the red acrylic shade drops 74 cm along the wall, held by a metal wall fixing. The 30 cm diameter and the 18 cm shade height give it the presence of a ceiling light, without any need to drill into the ceiling.
The E27 LED bulb is included and lights in warm white 3000 K, filtered by the acrylic which tints the light slightly on its way through. The 3 to 10 metre range is enough to cover a worktop, a desk corner or a side table. The supplied source saves you from putting the kit together yourself.
Red works here as punctuation in an understated scheme, in the manner of Scandinavian interiors that reserve colour for a single object. The drop length places the light lower than a classic sconce, as close as possible to the area to be lit. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor rooms.
